We’re in the middle of a heat wave, with daily temperatures in the nineties. It’s not a sunny heat wave. It’s a rainy one. It’s humid, so humid, and raining so hard I think we are in the middle of a monsoon. If the sun was out, it would be drier, but the temperatures would be into the hundreds. The sun here is brutal!

All I can say is, thank goodness for air conditioning! I’ve been quite happy indoors painting and watching the rain through my window.
I made a Squash Book to be used as a mini art journal and made bright summery front and back covers for it. They were both done on 140 lb cold press watercolor paper (a nice weight for a cover) with acrylics and ink.

It will be going in the mail on Monday, off to it’s new home, as part of a Happy Mail Art Exchange.

I “arted” on a few of the inner segments, but I won’t show you inside, because I want it’s recipient to see it first.
This next piece is a little cooler, but still summery I think. She makes me think of summer nights.

Wonderful work. Greetings from cold and wet Rhineland! Valeie
Gorgeous work!! No rain here in days but humid as well and often way too hot for me!! Enjoy painting!

I very much like all your art here, the gentle sun, your lovely abstract book covers and your angel, love the background you have made for her too.
Wow! Love all your colors!
You have monsoons? I have never experienced that. The sun looks much kinder than your experience of the heat. Beautiful!
Sorry it is muggy hot where you are. Like you said inside with the AC and art. Great way to spend the day. Love your angel
