Hi everyone! It’s Week Two of our August Theme, “In The Good Old Summertime”.
Our inspiration this week is
The Fruits of Summer
Mmmm. Yummy, juicy, delicious raspberries, blueberries, watermelons, peaches, plums.. oh I want a fruit salad now. Fruit salad on top of a scoop of vanilla ice cream, that sounds good.
As delicious as the fruits of summer are, they just wouldn’t let me put them into my art. I kept eating them. I had to think of a different way to incorporate fruit into the postcard I made for this week’s challenge.
I chose to use the colors that cherries and raspberries and blueberries stain your fingers when you pick and eat them; reds, purples, blues, pink.

Then I kept thinking stain and that stains are not really a good thing, so my image started taking a gothic twist. It’s ended up being a little dark and I’m not sure if at first glance you would think summer unless you read my thought process. I also think she could only get away with that outfit on a hot summer night. So, I present my postcard made with the palette of summer berries.
I will be making this art available as a postcard in my Zazzle store.
